Hello, and welcome to my website.

I am fortunate to make a living from research and teaching—exploring topics I find fascinating and, in some cases, contributing to better public policies.

I teach undergraduate and master's students in the areas of security studies, international politics, and public policies. My research has two main strands: one in security studies, focusing on militarism, militarization, and the arms trade; and another on foreign policy strategies and diplomacy in Latin America, examining what actors in the region prioritise, as well as how they look at and respond to shifts in great power relations.

I completed my DPhil in International Relations at the University of Oxford, where I had the chance to teach international politics and public policies to students who were often smarter than me.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I did research on science-policy interfaces, as well as on dynamics and impacts of social distancing measures. I worked with people from public health, a quite rewarding experience.

Please have a look at my published work to get a better idea of what I do.
